Rome Total War (PC Game)

Just got this new pc game and made a backup of the 3 cd for this game. Was able to install off of the backup cds but when I tried to play the game which uses the 1st cd it does not recognize the cd and asks to put in the original cd. What would cause this problem and how do I get around this if possible. Any help would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance. I am using winxp as windows.

There are patches that are made to allow the games to be played off of the HDD. Do a google for it and you should find your answer.

The reason behind the "Insert Disk" is to keep people from altering the code to allow cheating (If it is an Online Game)...and to make sure you actually own the game.

yup , you need a noCD patch , crack , whatever.

Thanks alot for the information I got what I needed . All I wanted was to install on my laptop and play the game since I do own it , but it would not allow me to play off of the copy cd since I had put the original away . Thank you for all of your help . You guys are Great . Have a Great Day!!
