Dish could not authorize.

I had to activate my new yellow cards last week and one receiver did as charlie said and accepted it. The other would not authorize and after an hour and 3 technicians they agreed to send a replacement yellow card. They activated the blue card again. The best part is this reciever was once out of the stream with full programming and i reduced package and 3 months later put it back in stream and still had full package. This has been 2 1/2 years ago. When they reactivated the full package is still on receiver. Could there be something in the receiver blocking Charlie?

blue card, if it doesnt ,could raise some heads. if they rehit the card,just need to know.

It is possible that whoever had the IRD before you installed a TSOP lock that would block all attempts by Charlie to write to the TSOP.

The nag says that if you want to keep seeing the porn channels (and other channels) you have to get a new card by April xx. THIS YEAR, NEXT MONTH

The IRD may also have a TSOP lock which is preventing Charlie from writing to it.
There are a lot of formerly hacked 2700 & 2800 IRD's around.
The old IRD's like that cannot accept the new N2 stream right, the TSOP is to small. People (hackers) are dumping them.

Their ird was not a hacked unit, they sub it from charlie from the beginning. Actually charlie installed it.

Then he wants to start getting rid of the small TSOP IRD's, won't work much longer any way, special stream for them on N2. Don't think they are MPG3 capable either. That's coming soon too.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but I believe your sayin the 2700 & 2800 won't work with N2? Well that simple isn't the case , and I know you know that maybe you meant to say the 1000 etc models , anyways I talked to a dish installer the other day ( Not subContracter, but a real works for dish guy) anyways he said they are STILL INStalling 2800 in New customers, existing customers houses , although I think he did say Refurbished , still there being used , which suprised me cause i thought they quit make those years ago , in any event I'm not sure by what you meant by "The old IRD's like that cannot accept the new N2 stream right"

IRD is a 2700 and I have owned it from the start. The IRD is 4 years old and has never been tampered with. No locks. I thought my extra programming would have been removed since they tried the yellow card but it is still there. The yellow card is active in the other receiver in my house with only the paid programming.

The porn channels are not showing any messages now and before they were showing the April dates.

I know it is reaching but at this point anything free is a welcomed sight. The more trouble Charlie has the better .

OK from what I have read, and excuse the term "streams" I use it because it is in common usage and AN NOT EXACT TERM.

There are three (3) 'streams'

Nagra 1, the blue cards we are using.

Nagra 2 The final stream

Nagra 2 'A' a stream or packets that are being sent down for the old, small TSOP IRD's.

according to MY BEST INFORMATION the small TSOP IRD's cannot handle the final N2 stream so until they are phased out (replaced with big TSOP IRD's) N2 'A' will be sent down too.

Eddie, you may be right about the "REFURBISHING" a few years ago Dish took all the old models, like the 3700's in trade, refurbished them (updated) and sold them again as 3900's
They came in factory boxes with all new cases and remotes, Dish 500 legacy's Etc.

IF they are going to do this with the 2700 / 2800 (512 K TSOP) they may add a larger (2 MB TSOP) TSOP to them to make them fully compatable with N2 and MPEG 3.
This will save them some money. because there are lots of them out there just like the 3700/3900's [ a lot cheaper than buying new ones]

I may be wrong but it does make sense to me.

Sounds right. I do know you can change 2700/2800 series TSOP voltage by removing a jumper and replacing it in another location. Changes it from 3.3 to 5 volts.

And from the 7100/7200 hits I used a modded 2700 to reprogram the 1 meg TSOP from the dishplayer.

So the 2700/2800 processor ic can access at least a 1 meg TSOP. I see no reason why the proper model 2 meg TSOP wouldn't work.

The blue card is still receiving the porn feeds. i never thought to check until I seen your post. Last night I tried to replace blue with a new yellow fron Charlie and it would not authorize either. Charlie has tried and failed twice. That old blue is not going to die without a fight. I still have all the original programming including the movie packages.

so it is possible ,that blue cards could be cloned like yellows to recieve n2 stream.

if it is like smiling jack said ,it is running n2-a test stream, the real test is to see it faze out

to the final stream ,and still be running.

1. the secret lies in country magics blue card to see what the hell, n2 stream is being
produced on the card?

2. give us the revision and card type.

3. you need to read that card some how and produce a dump,

very interesting stuff, can anybody else add to this!

The third yellow card worked and now all is dead and will have to be paid for. I still have old blue card and can't stand the thoughts of throwing it away.

Do not toss the blue card, We would be very interseted in unlocking and getting a tier data read from it to see why the porns still worked while others did not.

Mpeg 3 is for audio, Mpeg 4 is the video compression going to be used by dish. Mpeg 4 is also used in Div X
