Can anyone help me? Please.......
I just purchased a PVR 510 ( from Mili so it has all the goodies ) and a Magiccard 2.
Programmed the Magiccard with Magic 3.1.6 and it worked for about 12 hours before the channels went black. Waited but nothing came back so reprogrammed the card. Since then, whenever I try to start up the receiver it shows 015 "acquiring satellite signal", goes through 3 of 5 processes and then displays a background of channel 105 with an error screen #129 that says "Your receiver has not yet been authorized. Please contact DishNetwork to activate receiver" and everything freezes up. Contacted Mili and they sent me Magic 3.1.7 but still have the same problem. I am a totally lost newbie and would really appreciate any and all help.

The most simple step is to recheck your IRD # and boxkeys. You don't have to enter the -XX at the end of the IRD # in the MC program. Start at the beginning without using a saved configuration. All caps, no oh's, just zeros.

When you go to acquiring signal hit menu at once then run your check switches. Then check system-info to see if your locationID is not zeroed out. If you still get error 129, let it run in the stream for 25 or 30 minutes to see if it will authorize in the stream.

Receiver not authorized means you did not properly program the MC2......
Make sure all settings, receiver number, boxkeys, public keys, and all other numbers are correct.
It's not a receiver number problem tho.....that would give a card not valid for this receiver message, bad boxkeys give the guide but no video, bad public keys result in a not authorized for certain channels message.

Having the receiver hang on the aquiring signal screen and then jump to channel 101 or 103 is common........some get as far as step 3 and some never get past step 0 before they jump to 101 or 103, if they jump it means it did aquire the signal tho, just did not display all the steps.

The not authorized please contact dishnet is common for a virgin card.....so make sure you have the card programmed correctly.......or the receiver sees it as virgin....which could mean receiver number and boxkeys are all 00000's......

Everything checked out. Reprogrammed 4 times and still no go. During the acquiring sat signal phase, the right receiver # and camID shows up. Question: The cam id used is the one that shows up by default in Magic 3.1.7 Would a different cam id work? If so, is there a place where I can find one?
Thanks

Go to the MC2 forums and read what others are doing, MC2 works fine......if properly setup....
