Subbed rom 3

Got a subbed rom3 @ 383 married to a dish 1000 , top 180 only...would like to add HBO only...My plans are to take a 2700 and program a differant rom 3 card to the reciever using the subbed cam id ...Do I need to add a blocker??...Is there a better way of doing this?

Another question....just how far can you go with a subbed cam?...Could I add ppv without getting hit all the time?

I could not recommend screwing with your subbed card. Not that it will be around much longer but you will need it ti change over to the new N2 card, it takes both to swap.
And what ever you have on the blue will be written to the yellow.

I think it would depend on how ofter Charlie checks his subs. I don't think he checks the blue very often but the yellow is supposed to do check sums all the time.

Thanks Sj.. My plans was to put the subbed cam id to another rom3 ,and not play with the orignal card ..I also picked up a used 2800 I was going to let the person use, so he wouldn't be using any of his oringal subbed equipment ...The person lives about a hour from me was the reason I was asking how much I could add to the oringal subb, without drawing a bunch of hits on the card or reciever....And with it being a subbed cam id would it need a blocker on it?

Had me worried, ok, best not to mess with charlies property.

Any additional channels added to sub card makes it possible for it to be detected, Charlie can check, and turn it off. If he does the sub card may be turned off too.

a blocker is also a target so use a good one if you do.
I think it would be better to use a different cam ID with a good blocker.

One more question..Can they detect the changes without the phone hooked up?

NO

They can only get information from the phone line.

I got the new rom3 programmed with top 180, HBO and Ppv...I used the subbed cam id, not hooked up to a phone line...The HBO and Ppv. are not coming in,just blank screen..The HBO doesn't show red on the program guide , didn't get the pay nag with Ppv. just blank screen, no sound or anything....the top 180 is working fine, which the cam id is subbed for...Used TierGen v0.32R1 for channels....The rom3 is in a 2800 hooked up to a dish 500...I just picked up the 2800 so I don't know details bout it except I done a SA5 earase first thing and and it was locked , which I took care of..

I think the problem took care of itself by just turning off the power and letting it up-date...seems to be doing ok now

Updates are frequently the problem, unfortunatley they do not always update so easy.
