noobie need help please

hi, just want to say that this is a great site. I do have a noobie question, hopefully someone can help me with it. i got pansat 2500a receiver. i used dtv dish, with two lnb from dtv. I aimed at 110, and 119, but can't seem to get the signal. I dont' know if my dtv dish can get dish signal or not, but here is my configuration in receiver.

lnb type: standard
freq: 10750
22KHZ to ON
Diseqc:0 since i connect directly with no switch, i tried with switch, and changed number but no difference.
skew: to 0
tp: 12224-20000
positioner setting: disable

can someone tell me if my setting is wrong, and if there is something i must do.

ps. i just got this receiver, so i have not try to load channel listing or the 245 autoroll yet. does it make any different? thanks all.

The LNB's are the same but the switches and the way the LNB's are pointed are different.
If you have a dish without a internal switch you should be able to get 1 sat at a time with it.

Diseqc:only one Lnb connect to your receiver it will work if you want to use two lnb get disq. switch and put one on no-1 and second on no-3 and do not forget to change switch settings in receiver you will be on the way....but one more thing put auto roll bin in it will be good also since key are changed very frequently.

thanks all for helping out. i will try out your suggestions and see what happen. i have try to move the dish for the last 2 days but no signal, hopefully this time it will work. by the way, what is the different between the freq 10750 and 11250. what are they for, and should i be putting a different number for 110 and 119? thanks all again for the reply. :)

Unless you offset your LNBs you cannot pickup two sats. There are pictures of the way you stagger your LNBs to get both of the sats at one time. Once you solve that problem , and get both signals, you will have to get a DISQC sw. The disqc sw lets the rec choose which sat is shown by the chnl number.

Oh god ....dear do one thing at a time first follow this .... go to manu ...till ant.satup and put your disq.no. to off and use only one dish do not connect second one...point it to s.w just right side from where you were using for direct.....ones you get signal for any one 110 or 119 ...now try and get second one ...ones both got signals...now it comes to disq. this switch is to mix input of your signal from both sats..and why to change number in your receiver is get partiqular channel from that sat....now if you have problem ...write in detail what have you done and what is not going right which will help in answring your ques. Forget about frequency for not ones you get every thing done you will have time to read more and by then I will give you 10page file to read which will explain you in detail about all frequencies.

:) :) :), i am seing a signal bar now. thanks everyone. I know i have much to read with this new fta receiver, but with some help from you guys make a big different. what i have on my settings are, 11250, disqc to off, i connect directly to one sat, i am getting 119 signal. I'll worry about 110 later. I am getting signal and chanels but with $ sign next to them, i presumed it is block, some are saying free which i can see the preview chanels. Is my next step is to do the autoroll. I read many threads and try to find the gtool for xp but only find for win98, can someone point me to the right location. I got this tool and a bin file from pansat usa, is that tool sufficient? what about that bin? thanks again for your patient.

i finally got signal and enter key for march and able to see some channels. I then went to do the autoroll, file 245, and receiver shutdown and boot up, but then my whole menu, sat setup are gone. it just goes right to the main screen, saying setup sat, and when i click on it, i have to do the setup again with echo7, and then do the channel search. should i load back the channel list since i did save it before i put the autoroll in, and now no pictures. nothing works after, what do i need to do? thanks.

ok, after reading more threads and a with a little confident, i used gtool to load back the channel list i save before the 245autoroll. so now the menu and all set up are familiar again but then the channels are not showing, they are all just showing numbers but no lable like name of channels. I then put a differnt channel list in and now i get some channels showing up, but very little. no ppv, no usa network, no msnbc. would the 245 autoroll open up all channels in my channel list? even if my channel list are not uptodate, still, i should be seeing all channels open right? Can someone shed some light on this. I am greatly appreciated. thanks again for your time.

Go to manu-ok-ok- you will get ant.setup, now chack your disqc number and set it according to what you have used in your switch(disq.) and you will be able to see signals, ones you are done go to channel itwill load current key. and you are done.
