Do the 119 and 110 Sats. give you Hi Def broadcasts or is a 3rd Sat required ?

If a channel (Such as ESPN) has a Hi Def program does Charlie alway send as such ?

Will the 6000 IRD with an MC give give you Hi Def programs or is it only with Nagra 2 ?

Any other carded Hi Def recievers besides the 6000 ?

Last, but not least, is there enough Hi Def programing available to make it worth it ? (I think I already have the answer to that one.)

Thanks in advance.

all of charlie's high def content is nagra 2 encrypted, and can not be tested

It's worth noting that although the hi-def programming is Nag2 encrypted, the Hi-Def receivers give you far supior video. The reason is the digital outputs... I have a High Def receiver and a 4900 and I can tell you that the High Def. receiver has a MUCH better picture on my High Def TV. As far as I know there are no standard receivers that offer component output, let alone DVI. A 6000 is a relatively cheap receiver to buy these days... Check Ebay.

Are all the HD channels on the 110 satellite? Are any on the 119? Perhaps someone can post a breakdown to the HD channels and which satellite they appear on.

Depends where you live. Some areas have all hi def on 110/119, some you need the extra dish for the 'locals'; if so you might find some hd there.

All HD channels are on the 110 and 119 birds. That's a plus since you don't need an extra dish for a 3rd sat. The drawback is that they have gone to Nagra2 which means a sub. I agree with Freecharlie that by far it is a superior quality picture.

To get HD from DN you would have to sub to Americas Top 60 and also to the HD package. Cost- a little under $40 plus whatever PPV movies you ordered. New customers would get $10 off for the 1st six months. The Hd package really doesn't have a lot to offer. You can't receive any HD broadcast that is not in their package. You can add a HD terrestrial antenna to pick up HD from local channels.

IRD's -- w/cards - 5000, 6000, 6023. Cardless IRD's - 811 and up. The 5000 and 6000 require a Legacy LNB and not sure but I think the 6023 will work with a DP LNB. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong on that. For the 6000 make sure it is a 8PSK/8VSB to use a terrestrial antenna.

Is it worth it ? If you have a Hi Def or HD ready TV, I would think so. Pick up a 6000 or 6023 and get the best of both worlds before Nagra1 is shut down. Get a buddy to go the same route and split the sub with him. If your'e already testing, go with an 811 for the Hi Def. It's newer and has a few more bells and whistles. Switch to the digital IRD for the rest of the channels while they last.

Go to http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/hdtv/index.shtml for th HD package channel selection.

Myself ? I'm still kicking it around. Hope this helps and good luck.
