Plz! help me with this "Satellite Signal" problem.

Hi guys
Please help me out here... for every 30mins I am watching on my dish 301 receiver, a message will come out saying:
Attention
Acquiring Satellite Signal
XXXXX 1 of 5
follow by downloading the channels info.

just like every time you insert a programmed atmega card. i have to wait around 3-5 mins to get the channel back. any advice will be REally appreciated....

james sound like your dish is misalined or some tree blowimg in the wind is blocking your single...........

but the interesting thing is, if i reprogramm the new Pfg files... it will work for 10 mins. do u think its the problem with Cam ID... or Zip code don't match with Cam id or something.. i am a newbie,,, please help me out here. thanx

Sounds like an ECM prob. to me. Do you have a soft lock? That would explain the re-boot.

Rush could be right though, loss of signal would also do it.

lol.... the message on the screen is same as when u rebooting ur receiver.

what u mean by soft lock? but i do have a lock installed at back of my 301 receiver. its been ON all the time.
is there anything i can do to avoid the reboot?

james go into your menu screen and check your singal see if the singal meter is cuting in and out if it is that is the problem...........

turn the lock off find a good cam id so you dont get ECM and give that a try...........

thanx rush for your fast reply...i just checked,,, the singal meter is very steady.nothing strange. do you think its the problem with Pfg file?

do i just turn the lock off for 5 mins and turn back on? system itself will pick up a new CAM ID right?

james have you update the keys when you write the new file on your atmega card to do this when you open jeeper just click on get keys befor you write to the card..........

if you have a good cam id you dont need to lock the reciver you should be fine l have no lock on mine and dont have a problem...the cam id wont change in anyway by turning the lock off or on.you have to create one or find a good one...........

I also have a similar problem but mine is on a 301 10 with an amega card it only detects one bird my cam is good because it works on my 301 13 ,
