Doom3.....40 can you help?? Or anyone?

I bought doom3 today and installed in on my primary cd drive. Now after everything is said and done I go to play it but the game cannot locate the cd. After I just got done successfully installing it on the same cd rom. I went to the support forum activision and they dont have anything on it. I am wondering if the game has lost/installer/me has fucked up the path from the game to drive? How to I fix it so I can play?

If you bought it, then you need to put the CD in. If not try this.

You need to overwrite the original .exe file with this one. Save the original in another place just in case it doesn't work.

Ya I bought it. And its in the drive. Thats the problem. It still does not see it.

Mopar Typy this in Google and see if they have a patch for the no cd

yup , you need a noCD patch , crack , whatever.I did this for my game Rome provided they have a patch for your game Good Luck!!

I could not use my Rome cd that I made a copy from and I was told to get a patch called no cd for the game Rome . Since you requsted for help and I copied the link that I got off of Google I posted it for you to help you out. What you need to do is check out the links
especially if people take there time to help others!! Mopar watch your language as well!!

After downloading this .rar, it says....

To open this file, windows needs to know what program created it. You can go online or do it manually. Then it gives me two options.

Now what?

You need to download Winrar and install it. Then you can open the file.

Try this first. Pop in the original disk 1 and when it loads, select Play. I bet it will play that way, but you will have to switch disks.

If you use the file that I posted, and overwrite the file in the C:/Program Files/Doom 3, you can play it without the CDs.

Why would I want to switch disks? I bought the game at Walmart. Its not a hack.

I took the game back to walmart today and got another one. Still same problem. I can install it but the game still does not see the game. So I will download winrar and try it.

Do you have alcohol 120% ?
It takes a disk and creates a 'phantom' cd or dvd drive that you can play games from, it thinks it is playing from a disk but it's playng from the hard drive. A lot faster.

Now on too another problem. I tried to open it with internet explorer and now that rar file I downloaded from 40 wont let me download it again. Gives me an application error.

By the way SJ, that is only a 40 day trial winrar...

Yes I did. Dont know why it worked, but it did.

I right clicked on the doom3 shortcut icon, clicked on properties, shortcut,advanced, and clicked on run with different credentials. And it worked.

screw quantum physics.....doom 3, alows me to unleash my inner demons.
not to mention, with the latest video cards,trust me the new raideons are unsupprased...this game kicks thee collective ass!
and i might add..with berkleys T-line, online gaming is at A new level!
