1969 25hp carburator

I need help. Does anybody know where I can get a parts breakdown on this carburator? I tore it all apart and bought a carb kit for it but don't remember how it goes back together.

I think you will have to get something from the manufacturer or from a place that used a lot of them at this late date.

Well the problem I am having is there is 3 different linkage pieces for the choke. I thought I had it right but just doesn't work like it is suppose to. I thought there might be a site online that might have a diagram but I could not find one. I'm gonna mess with it alittle today. If I can't get it to work I'm gonna fix it with a big hammer.

well I got it together but there is no power. When you give it gas it falls right on it's face. it's ready for the scrap pile I think......

Does anybody know where I can get a lower unit for a 1963 merc 350. It's a mercury 35hp short shaft. Once I get my 25hp running better I need to get this 35hp going. Thanks for the offer #40. I have a few things to try today and I'll see what happens.

NO but I could use a lower unit for a Honda 9.9 myself, this dam salt water's hell on Outboards.

sj, did you try ebay? I found some lower units for mine on there but the one I need are going to high.

I have been looking for a year, they want $ 900 U.S. for one here.

I bought a 4 hp. and a 25hp for $ 500 last summer instead to hold me over, I do like that 9.9 - 4 stroke though, more power than the Ever rude 25, quieter, no oil to mix.

They are hard to come by since the motors are $ 2700 new and are a must in costal waters now, no more 2 strokes allowed. And this saly water eats them up, they are mostly aluminum.

it sounds like your high speed jet might be blocked buy a carb kit and check out marine mechanics online . com hope this helps i can help you a bit if you need some help but check out that site

i got a johson book with 25 horse carb picrhers and drawings if you still need them, i run a 40 hp 1966 my self they still work good

If it has a float in it, check it with a gauge to make sure it is set properly. The rods may also be in the wrong places and choking it out. Just some quick things to think about.

Old Johnsons are famous for blowing crankcase seals, Being a 2 stroke this needs to be sealed for the fuel/air to be forced into the cylinders properly. When this seal is out they sound like they would have power, But in the water start accelerating, Then stuble and never rev up correctly.

Well I got it, Somebody at one time had the handle tore apart where u can rev the motor up or slow it down. They had the handle put together wrong so when you rev the motor up it wasn't adjusting the timing correctly. Now it runs great.
