I'm in the process of converting to DISH, and I can only get a signal for 110.

Here's my setup:

DISH 500 with 2 DUAL LNBs
LNBs are connected to two inputs of a SW-21.
Output of SW-21 goes into IRD.

When I run the check switch, it says:
Input:____ 1 _____1_____2_____2
Satellite:__110___110____X_____X
Polarity:__Odd___Even____X_____X

Status: WARNING - only one satellite connected

SuperDISH and Alternate are unchecked.

Am I just not aimed right, or is something else wrong?
Should the signal say locked on 110 and 119 in the signal meter when aimed properly?

Cheers,

Rawl Dog

Take all the wires off.
Hook the IRD to 1 LNB direct, see what you have. Adjust aim.
Then connect it to another side of the what you have. Adjust aim

What do you mean "2 dual LNB's"

4 outputs ? won't work, you have hook each LNB output to a SW21 then hook the 2 Sw21's to a SW64 to cascade them.

I have two dual LNBs on the end of my Y connector. I'm only using 2 of the 4 outputs. 1 output from each LNB goes into the SW-21.

How many sats are you trying to get.

If you are just trying to get 110 & 119 do the 1 LNB at a time step and find out which are pointed at which then hook up to the 110 -119 outputs with the Sw21 and from there to the IRD and it will work.

IF it is aimed wrong you will not get a signal on the LNB. You may have to do a switch check but probly not with just a single LNB connected. But you will after you aim at and verify both sats singly and hook in the SW21.

Hi sorry to change the subject but will a dish 500 dishpro work with any IRD or only
dishpro IRD's. In other words do I need a dishpro IRD if I have a dish "500" dishpro
dish ? If so what IRD model's work with dishpro dishs ? Thank You for your time !!

The dishpro will only work with some IRD's that are not dishpro.
Look here for complete information on the equipment and compatibility
it is a equipment information site only

Thanks SJ exactly what I needed to know !!

Thanks again !!

Dawg, if your hooking to 1 IRD you will use 2 outputs to 1 SW21, if your using 2 IRD's you will be using 4 outputs and 2 sw21's.

1 IRD

110.............119
.to................to
...in.............in
........SW21
..........out
..........IRD

2 IRD's

.............110...........................119
............to..to.........................to..to
...........in.....in.......................in..... in
.sw21(1).....sw21(2)...sw21(1).....sw21(2)
.............OUT...........................OUT
...........IRD#1........................IRD#2

I have done this several times and it works great.

I would however do as SJ sais and only hook up 110, and tune it in, then only 119 and tune it. When both are tuned, use the sw21 as depicted above and run check switch

He never said whether he was trying to feed two IRD's or 4 LNB's to one IRD, that was what I hooked him up with the cascade to a SW64. With all the other options in a step by step.

Hope it gets you going let us mnok if you have any more problems.

Rawl Dog is this a Dish 500 or a converted 300 with a Y adaptor installed?

If it's a converted single lnb dish (dish 300) using a Y adaptor it won't work. No skew adjustment.

If it is a Dish 500 did you set the skew?

Thanks, Gents. The switch was the problem, as it only allows 1 satellite signal through at a time.
