I recently noticed that in my Network Connection folder is an icon showing another connection called Local Area Connection on Linux IGD. I have tried searching what it for and why it is there, but haven't found a clear answer. I though it might have something to do with the torrent clients, but I have removed them all and it is still there. Ran many AV programs and came up with nothing.

Right now it is showing that it has been active for almost 7 days. It shows how much info has been sent and received.

Here is a picture of it.

I can't disable it, delete it, or anything. Anyone have any idea what it is and what it is for?

Do you use linux as a O.S. ?

Do you have a LAN, is it hooked to the internet DSL / Cable

Looks like you are sending and receiving data big time. But if you use DSL or Cable it would do this normally.

My LAN's show up like this in XP when I use it.

See the screen shots below you can see in the first one I have two LAN's on this computer, one is for the internet and the other is for my regular local LAN that I keep unplugged.

In the second one you can see the activity on the internet LAN. Jst like yours is doing.

I did some more searching with a better google and found that it is from switching the UPnP of my router on. No virus, no spyware, just what it is supposed to be doing.

Transfering data just like my lan (instead of a router)
