Hacker gets 30 months in DirecTV fraud case

A 26-year-old hacker convicted for conspiracy to commit access device fraud was sentenced Monday to a 30-month federal prison term.
Brian Dorsett, who according to authorities admitted to having altered satellite TV smart cards, was also ordered to pay $500,000 in restitution to the victims: DirecTV and NDS Americas Inc., a company that manufactures the computer chips inside satellite reception cards.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested Dorsett on Nov. 17 while he negotiated the sale of 400 DirecTV Latin America satellite reception cards with undercover agents.
A search warrant obtained by ICE agents for Dorsett's Miami residence revealed hundreds of additional hacked cards. He pleaded guilty Feb. 17.
As part of his sentence, Dorsett also received a three-year supervised release with the condition that he be prohibited from watching television or have television access during his probation.

WTF they going to make him REMOVE all TVs from his home, and he can't go to HQQTERS or any sports bars that have TV. HI mom I will be comming over turn all tvs off.
