Anyone know of a good program for sniffing out wirless networks? I have a wirless antenna about the size of a cigaterre lighter made by MSI for 802.11b. The only programs that I have for this are the ones that came with the drivers and the one thats built into WinnXP. Are there better ones out there? And houw would I increase my range on one of these?

Any help is appreciated.

thanks

Netstumbler is the only one I know of, and its picky about what chipsets it works with. Give it a shot, it doesnt work very well with my Intel 2200BG minipci card though, but worked very well with my Orinoco card.

Larger antenna and adding a extension cable to raise it helps also. The SMA type cables are common at cell phone shops. Run a websearch on "Cantenna's". You can build a better directional antenna to increase range for under 5 bucks. Also the 108mps speedbooster cards have better sensitivity for more range than the older 801b 11 mps units.
