XTV’s box sells for $179 and the service goes for $29.99 a month. Subscribers currently have three content options – 50 live channels viewable any time, pay-per-view, and interactive content, which comes from holio.net. The content is a mix of Internet-produced and movies broadcast through partnerships XTV has with various Adult studios.
For Webmasters, the company also has an affiliate program offering $35 to $45 per signup and 10 percent on Webmaster referrals.

I don't know $ 30 a month for nothing but porn seems high to me, looks like everything else is extra.
I looked at the preview, don't know how they get away with showing that since there is no age qualification to see it.
And it is fuzzy even in the small window (comparing it to the rest of the screen) so I really don't think the picture quality is going to be that good when it is blown up full screen ( I have DSL)
The better question is how can we hack it !!!
For free it would not be bad even if fuzzy.

Picture quality is VERY dependant on the speed of your ISP connection and using composite video connections. It's not DVD quality but it's about on par with VHS. All in all it's more than acceptable. I've torn into the box and pics of what;s inside are posted here:

What I found most interesting is what appears to be a JTAG like port on the mainboard. Hacking this thing would be SWEET.
Yeah, but being the type of connection it is, it's expecting to be in communication with the service provider continuously. This box would narc you off in less than a second...depending on your connection speed. That's not a jtag port either. I'm not saying someone smarter than me couldn't do it fairly easily. I guess I just can't get over the 'never plug in the phone line' theory. This box wont run unless your dialed up.

Agreed..but I'm wondering if there is a way to choke off the bi-directional communication i it in fact operates that way. I'm thinking that it may run like a cardless IRD.
This is the closest thing to 'on-demand' television out there too. In that respect, xtv is a huge step. In the future the networks that stay in the game are going to be the providers that will give you what you want when you want it. With todays technology consumers shouldn't expect any less.

They are all pushing the on demand stuff now, cable, dish network, I guess we will see who has the most bandwidth to actually supply what they are offering in quanity.
Maybe Mpeg 3 will help Mpeg 2 is still really too large to send over the internet and compression they have to use really hurts picture quality.

You MAY NOT be advertising but the number "100351" in the Link is someone's ID. I know cause I have one, LOL. I also don't understand the $179 price. Mine is coming and it's FREE. I only had to Pay FedEx les than $20 US for shipment to Canada. Better do some more reading JT, LOL.
