I get an error message # 311 to the effect that there's a serious problem with my hard disk drive and give a further error code of 418. Any idea what the problem is?

I'm attempting to put the 508 in the BEV stream and this is what I've done so far. Cloned the IRD# and boxkey from my 2700 to the 508. Is there a HD check for a matching IRD# so you can't move the HD from one unit to the next? I just select OK to continue then get a BEV sattelite setup screen. After I've selected the Nimiq 91 satellite Transponder 11 it goes into Warning 061 receiving an upgrade but is stuck aquiring satellite signal even though it was locked.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong?

What kind of cam are you using to update the f/w on the ird?Is it a Dish cam or BEV cam?Can you get the system info?Does it give you an cam number?

Check it out and let me know

Yes. The HD must be 'married' to the IRD to function. Did you make a back up of the TSOP's of that IRD? If not, you'll have to D/L a virgin P063 TSOP to reflash. By doing this, then connecting to sat feed for the current F/W to download, you're-marrying' the HD to the IRD.

Thanks. I ended up doing more digging/research and figured out the IRD had to be married to the HD. I did save my original TSOP so I reflashed with that and programmed my CAM to Bev with matching IRD # & box key. I put it in the BEV stream and got the latest BEV image. It's all working smoothly so far. Thanks to all the expert testers, tool developers, how-to doc writers, and of course all the folks on the forums where a question asked is a question answered and archived. :-)

Cheers!
