Here is the new bin for the Pansat 2500 that has EPG on it , its finally here , Anyways this comes from AL7bar and THEDSSGUY's Post , ALso here is his C/P from the Post, I take it from his post that the EPG will WORK Better if you scan the sats instead of use Ch list , I haven't tired it yet but if its like the Ultra epg then hes right

I program pansat long time ago, how do I load this bin?
can I load on top x-8500 2500a 105 04.bin? or do I have flash eeprom back factory first. Please let me know because I don't want to screw up.

Actually I just added the bin without flashing the eeprom back to factory settings. However I did have to scan the channels once again.

Al7bar.tk probably is the best place to go for FTA info , as far as receivers go it all depends on how much money your willing to spend , and the fact the N2 is just around the corner and we don't know if there will be a hack , I personally Like the Dreambox's the best but they can get expensive, the Coolsat is okay but theres a New receiver coming out real soon Called a ViewSat ( Actually its out right now on ebay for $200 shipped, but we don't know how support will be , I would imagine it will be good ) the rececier screen shots I've seen look kick ass you can watch up to 12 different programs with the Splict screen option , Anyways It just depends how much you want to spend , Since N2 is in ? I wouldn't spend over $150 to $200 max , if you could find a Dreambox 500 for around $225 I would probably get it , it really is the Best FTa out there! let me know what your looking to spend and I'll give a List of what receivers are going for ?!

go in menu and click on installation and do a blind scan on the satillite that you want

it works great but i have a problem, my pansat 2500 is now a fortec star after i put epg files on it, is this good or bad.

Tried the Bin it worked beautifully, EPG is a little slow to come in some times.

I think that all of the pansat bins are receiver specific. If you find a bin created for the 2500a, it may be doubtful that it can be used for the 2300. Just to be safe I recomend not applying it to your 2300. I recently purchased a new 2700, and atempted to utilize a 2500 bin. Unfortunately this was a mistake. I managed to fix the error, and will never make that mistake again.

On a side note, i've read that there is a new Nagra 2 ready bin used in Europe. Is there any truth to the rumor that this bin can be applied here in North America?

I had the same problem, had to flash with factory bin twice, then with 248.
after several attempts got it working like a charm. Hope this helps.

cant flash again ......wont power up ,no lights no nothing in both recievers ,will a bin blow a fuse???

1. Connect satellite receiver to PC with RS-232C straight cable (Not Null Modem) or a serial cable with a male to female adaptor.

2. Turn on the power in the back of the satellite receiver. Don’t turn on the power button in the front of the receiver.

3. Open the (2300_2500_1500 Downloader) I find that this works better with Pansat Receivers

4. Click "SERIAL PORT" and set at Com1 or Com2 depending on whether or not your computer have 1 or 2 com port(s)

5. Click "Baud Rate" and set at 115200.

6. Click “STB MODEL” and type model name exactly key:global

7. Click “BIN FILE” and select the (X-8500_2500A_10_05_04) bin file located in the flash folder. Or the newest flash.

Note: Use the Factory Flash (Pansat 2500A_040607_222_api(N) for basic FTA or if something goes wrong and you need the original flash. Go to for the latest flash for your reveiver.

8. Do not interrupt while downloading. Make sure your Computer says "Download Complete", not just 100%. If you don't get "Download Complete" you have NOT completed the Flash!

At this point your receiver may not appear to be doing nothing but you will notice that your computer is downloading the flash, then saying burning flash just be patient it will come arround.

9. Press OK after download complete; satellite receiver will reboot by itself.
Do not interrupt satellite receiver until reboot by itself.

maybe you will have to do this Procedure twice. at one point I had to do this four times, but I evenually got it working.

If this fails then you may have to send it back to dealer to be reflash. GOOD LUCK.

The new bin 248 for pansat 2500 doesn't work the autoroll, I was waiting a long time and nothing happend, then I back the old version and still have the same problem, then reflash with original bin from pansatusa and flash again with 245 and the same problem the autoroll doewn't work.
Anybody know sometihing about this?????????????
