OK this one is for the guru's.....My dads girlfriend has a bev and she sent it away to a guy to get done,i believe it is an atmega that she runs. Now when the atmega went down she tried to put her card(rom3) back in that she subs. The reciever tell her that the card does not belong to the ird and it wont work at all.The guy no longer does these and she is still subscribing but has no tv.She was told the guy has done something to the ird with soldering stuff,so i think he has a switch installed....but not sure,i have not seen the ird yet.Any ideas what would cause this??????

Could be several things.
If it has a switch it is probly a TSOP lock.
Put the plastic in it and let it alone for a while, if the card has not been in for a while it needs to update. If this does not work put the switch in the other position and leave it alone again, maybe it will come back on.
Sometimes if you do not put the card in for a while they turn the card off.
Do you know why the ATMega went down ?
It is also unlikley but possible that he changed the numbers on the IRD. That would make it give a 'does not belong in this IRD' message.

She needs to put her new nagra 2 card in the receiver. Rom3 is done on bev pretty much and she should have received a new card in the mail for her subscription.
Besides, Noone ever listened when I said words of wisdom all these years of " DON'T HACK YOUR LEGIT SUBSCIDED UNIT"
