I do believe it is illegal to get Dtv service outside the contenental(sic) U.S.
It is not illegal unless you live in the communist Canada. DTV does not have the right to sell outside teh US. That does not make it illegal to receive in any central American or Caribbean countries.

DTV really has little reach outside the USA. The only reason there's so much trouble in Canada is that the Canadian TV distribution people bitched so F'ing much to the government, that the government felt they had to do something. So they did. I know a few cops who say there just totaly fed up chasing people and dealers in Canada when there's al kinds of serious crimes taking place here that need to be dealt with. Don't get me wrong, Canadians who are watching DTV in their homes are breaking the law if you want to follow the letter of the law, but somehow, no one seems to care if a Canadian listens to an American Radio Station. The whole problem in Canada is based soley on the greed of television cable and satelite companies in (Communist) Canada.
In Central America????who knows. If full page adds are being run in the newspapers selling these systems, no one down there probably cares too much.
