hey dr,
sorry that your having a hard time. if you still need help, e mail me and ill talk you through it. dont you hate when people like CALIN tell you to go read. these are people that have forgotten where they came from and now that they know how to get free tv, they have this god complex and make people new to the hobby suffer by giving them squat for help. these are also the people that take the time to tell you not to YELL, if you use capital letters. they , if male , may also may be suffering from PENIS envy. well, screw them brother, if i can assist let me know. i havent forgotten the good folks like xwolves who talked me through endlessly when i knew JACK ! so here, i am giving back. im here if you need. peace

Hey Slip mahoney, don't be so hard on Calin. He has a good point. You really should do some reading, whether it be the forum posts or guides, etc. Now dr vr6, you do need to go to pansatusa.com and click on "dowloads" at the top of the screen. Then choose your model, 2500a (or 2500) and dowload the latest tools. There are two pieces of software, one is Gtools and the other is STB loader. Gtools is for uploading and downloading channels lists and STB Loader (set top box, ie:reciever) is for loading the bin files or operating program. It also comes with a clean factory bin, for restoring to original manufacturers spec. Now you should download from this site the new EPG/Autoroll bin for Pansat 2500a (from this site). This bin has the new EPG (electronic program guide) feature and the autoroll feature, which is what you really need. The autoroll will download the key changes automatically. You will see "downloading 10%...etc" rolling across the screen as it works. It will take 2 to 15min approx. to download the keys. Now first thing, double click the Gtools icon (file) you downloaded. Plug in the straight through cable NOT NULL MODEM between the reciever and the computer. Turn on the power to the reciever (IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE STILL PLUGGED INTO THE TV). Now on the taskbar click TOOLS, then STB CONNECT, then UPLOAD. This will upload your current channel list. DO NOT INTERRUPT THIS PROCESS. It only takes a minute or two. Once it has completed, a pop up will tell you so. Then click FILE, and SAVE AS, and name it whatever you want, save it to somewhere on the computer. Now you have stored your current channels. Now exit Gtools and open STB LOADER. Just make sure that if you have more than one COM port it it the right one (you can change it to 2 if you need to, most people only have one anyways). In the STB MODEL type "key:global", without the quotation marks. Then click BIN FILE and find the new EPG/Autoroll file you downloaded. Click DOWNLOAD and wait. Once again do not interrupt, it will reboot itself. When it has completed, go back into gtools and DOWNLOAD the channel list you uploaded before. You may not even need to download the channel list, but it won't hurt either. You can also download other channel lists, I would recommend DIDO'S ORIGINAL FOR NON DISHPRO. When you turn on your TV it will begin to download the latest keys, and will every time they change. This info should get you going. You now will no longer need to change the keys in parental control because it will do it on its own. Anything else?
