chadlet,
Welcome to the other side, Dude! It's not gonna be as easy as Dave is though. Here, we have to program the card, the TSOP (when needed), mod the IRD's, etc. But I gotta tell ya, IT'S FUN! I test Dave, Charlie & BEV and I must admit, Dave is too easy! Only the friggin' scripts go down everyday!
First and foremost, get a Jtag! A buffered type is recommended. D/lock is also a wise idea. Your ROM2 is probably open and programmable. Use NagraEdit2 for that CAM. If you can get your hands on a 2700/2800, that would be ideal for you. The easiest to 'test' with.
When you need help, there are many members here that will help. Seems like there are more and more ppl jumping from Dave's garden and into Charlie's....

Thanks for the info. I understand that dish is a little more challenging, but does it seem to stay up longer than dtv? Do you think mili will get into selling 3m services for dish also? Well i quess well see what happens when i get my reciever and dish up. Is there a differnce in voltage between a dtv lnb and a dish lnb? Or can you use the same? I was told the dish is the same but the lnb is different. Also is there any use for the old 8 foot dish and recievers because i have those as well? It starting to look like a cable company around my house.
Well thanks again
There are no 3m services for dish.
You can use both dtv and dish lnb for ...DTV,DISH and BEV.
You can't use the 8' one though.

There is stuff around for the old Cband equipment but it makes DN look like a walk though the woods. A great deal of knowledge and equipment requirements for Cband.
So far testing all three systems. Dave is down a lot up very little but easy to fix when down.
Charlie (dish net) Up for long streaches but very hardware dependent on what works the longest. But even the shortest run is measured in months.
Cband is just up. Dosen't go down at least not in the last several years. I really think no one cares if you manage to make it work. But very hardware and knowledge and skill dependant. Lack of big money subs makes it not worth going after.
