What's the better strategy:

1) Activate a virgin new Dishnet N2 card, then cancel the subsciption and leave card out of stream for 6+ months? How long are cancelled CamIDs targeted by Charlie? Will the CAM ever be useful in this state?

2) Leave yello card as is (virgin) and wait for a 'fix'? The yellow card appears to have an encryption design flaw that COULD be exploited at some time, but the chances are somewhat slim AFAIK.

Which method has the better chances?

Currently all still runs fine with Atmega and MC1 backup.

Thanks

Leavi it in virgin state... activating and leaving out of stream will do nothing as CAM needs updates to run anyways.

Even if you did activate, if it is left out of the stream, it will eventualy go down as it constantly requires updates to stay up. every 30 days or so I believe.

I would go with tb's suggestion. Leave it virgin as long as you can.

What's AFAIK mean again?
