I'm trying to download X-87BL_050519_105.bin into my 2700 using GTRom Loader v3 and its not working. Basically I'm trying to do it the same way I would always do it for the 2500 ... right after I turn it on and I see the first green light appear I click download and it wont download. Am I doing it right? Do you flash the 2700 the same way you would flash the 2500? If not, what should I try?
Thanks

First, make sure you are not using the same cable you used for the 2500a. The 2700a uses a NULL MODEM serial cable, the 2500a uses a STRAIGHT THROUGH, NON CROSS cable. Then, make sure you are not using the same software for 2700 that you used for the 2500. I recommend going to www.pansatusa.com, click downloads and choose your model, 2700a. There you can download the proper tools for your model. Use this STB Loader for the bins and the Gtools for the channel lists. It also comes with a factory flash bin to restore to original specs if need be. I never bother waiting for lights or anything. Just plug the cable in between computer and the reciever. Then turn on the reciever. As soon as you see the channel number on the reciever, you can use the STB loader. Do not interrupt the process, it will reboot itself when it finishes. The computer will tell you when its done. So, in short, use the right tools and right cable. These are not the same as those used for the 2500a.

Thats what it is. I'm still using the same cable that I was using for the 2500. I'll need to get the new cable. Thanks ginyoda, you've been great with my question. I'll let you know what happens.

Goodluck, man. Hope you can get it going with the null modem cable. Should be fairly straight forward from there.

I am having the same problem. While I can flash my 2500 as always, I cannot do the same on the 2700. I have been trying with the cable that came with the new receiver and no luck. Could it be I got sent the wrong cables?
How can you see the difference between straight tru and Null modem cables?

Good question TS2003 ... How can you tell the difference between these 2 data cables?

I managed to make it work...
I used: the original cable that came with the 2700 ( looks identical to the old one); the GTROM loader ( ALL others, i.e. Blacklist, Pansec, etc... DO NOT work) and the proper BIN.
In case this is useful for someone else...
