is there a way to get free cable tv?i live in the city and was wanting to get something besides dish so when they go out.something like the digital cable box?

Depends on which cable system you have there are a dozen different systems, some can some can't be hacked

climb up the pole and hook into the cable line

If you have a neighbor with cable just put a splitter in the line (hide it)
