So how does the dreambox come into play?

Card shareing is a network with a server to distribute mutiple connection
to possibly one or more cards. The Dreambox has an ethernet connection
and can be networked on the internet and the IP address is added to the
card shareing server, if you (pay). There has to be a Valid subscriber in order
for this to work. I do not think anyone paying the bill will allow PPV.

no one knows how long it will be before charlie's N2 will be hacked.. unless someone has already done it.. to date I don't think it has happen..

BTW: Card, network, sub, sharing is not a hack.. on top of that if you network share
you will get caught.. this would only work in the deepest of under ground systems
if discovered all would be busted..

I do believe N2 will be cracked.. when.. who knows..I have heard that some FTA programers got video.. I don't believe it.. untill I see it..

Guys like Magician have the most to gain.. people that have connections to people that can produce another form of cam.. thats where the money is.. FTA or another

I don't think it will be that long..if it is it might never happen.. markets will dry up.. interest will fade..If the last stages of this stream are cracked a new magic card or other cam could be in production in weeks..in my opinion the magic card would only need a new chip with more space.. I'm sure they have already looked and know what it would take if they decript video..

this is horse shit.. at this point there is no advanage in waiting.. every person on this site would buy what ever it takes to open the stream if it were for sale..

The truth is as we have got smarter and have cracked these cards.. the providers have also learned what the weakness of the smart cards are.. large sums of money have been spent to protect their investment..so a simple glitch fault is useless..

Very good reply littlebear, however the nagra 2 cards will take a glitch, stick one in a modified loader loader once and you will get 6f responses, it will reset out instead of giving you floor glitches represented as FF so the nagra 2 card is not as bulletproof as the p4 so I am with you, they probally will hack it. It's just a matter of when. As far as any further info on the nag 2 taking a glitch, I don't know, that was just a simple test I did with a rom 101 and a rom 102 card in my loader to see if it would respond to a glitch attempt, I know it would do nothing else to it, I was just curious.

Yes its true we have glitched a rom card.. but I must point out that the project started out to unloop rom3 cards.. this never happen.. catching a simple bug to unlock a card is a far cry from inducing a glitch inserting some code and causing a dump..on top of that it took hours to even catch a bug instead of seconds to induce a fault..I'm not say it can't be done..I also agree this isn't a P4.. our changes are much better..

As I have stated I think it can be done..but its going to take some smart people with some good equipment.. or someone from Dish that wants to spill the beans..

One other thing.. the glitch that was used to unlock card was donated to the project by one of the greats of this hobby as far as I know he has retreated back into his world and is not working on the N2 project..I'm not talking about the guy who finished the unlocking project.. he also has proven to be a very very good coder but like you said its going to take some new ideas and thinking outside the box to crack this nut..my fingers are crossed

True, but the Dish testers had no means of unlocking their own cards, they had to send them out to be unlocked. After the P3s went down and Dave testers migrated over, it became apparent that something had to change. We weren;t use to having someone else rework our cards. So, the talents that focused on Dave were now focused on Dish and it was soon after this that the impoosible was done. A modified unlooper that worked for your ROM cards. What folks use to may good money for was now being done in their own homes. The unlocking business soon dried up and it was all freeware again.

There's nothing fishy going on and posts stating that there is something happening with the N2 are not being removed. There just isn't any new developements with the N2 that I know of. So far none of the claims that have been posted publicly have panned out is all.

I don't know when you came into this hobby, but judging from the ants in your pants, it wasn't all that long ago.

This hobby isn't about instant gratification. Nor was it ever meant to be about Free TV. It was about the cat and mouse game. It was about coming home at night and seeing an error code on your screen and thinking "Right on!" and jumping on your computer to see what the Cat had been up to while the mouse was away.

When something breaks, you will know it. News like a P4 or Nag2 hack won't be kept quiet for long. I dare say every site on the net will know about it within 2 days at the outside if/when it happens.

Until then, sit back, read, learn, search out info from any possible site, hold on to your hard earned cash and most importantly, wait until you see MANY reputable sites reporting that there is good news and where to go for a fix.

The second most frequently asked newbie question after "Can I get DTV?" is the following:

What is this talk I hear about Dish Net and Bell switching over to a new encryption system? How will it effect me if I get an FTA receiver? Should I be worried?

Here's your answer:

Yes, Dish Network and Bell ExpressVu are currently in the process of swapping out access cards and will both will be completed sometime later this year. Currently, the most bandied about dates are April for BEV and September for Dish. Keep in mind that the end of the swap does not necessarily mean that Nagra1 will immediately be shut down, but it will not be very long after. Could Nagra1 still be around next Christmas? It's certainly possible, but only Charlie knows for sure. One thing that everybody knows for sure is that the days of the hackable encryption system being used now are clearly numbered.

What does this mean?

It means that all methods of testing currently used for Dish Network and Bell ExpressVu will cease to function. That includes Atmegas, Rom 2/3/10/11 cards, emulation, DVB-S cards, and FTA receivers using modified software. Everyone will need to be able to tap into the Nagra2 stream in order to continue to watch. Not only is Nagra2 not hacked, it is not even close. The only way Nagra2 will be hacked is if the Rom 101/102/103 yellow smart card can be opened and dumped.

"Coders" on this site and others have many theories on Nagra2. Some say things like "Nagra2 runs 20% faster than Nagra1", "Keys on Nagra2 change every 20 minutes", "Nagra2 can't be tested until Nagra1 is out of the stream", and "Nagra2 requires a higher symbol rate than Nagra1". These claims are directed at newbies who are weighing the pros and cons of purchasing an FTA receiver. You must understand that the people making these kind of claims work indirectly for the manufacturers and say these things so that they can continue to sell receivers. The fact is that NO ONE knows anything about Nagra2. If they do, they aren't talking.

No other encryption system used in North America besides Nagra1 is currently hacked. You cannot get PowerVu or Digicipher channels. You cannot get ******* or StarChoice with your FTA receiver. Once Nagra1 shuts down, your only options will be either FTA, FTA/VCII combo, cable, legit satellite subscription, or rabbit ears. Not everyone has the option of converting to a big-dish system. The federal law allowing you to place a satellite dish on your dwelling does not cover C-band dishes-- unless you live in Alaska. Landlords, Neighborhood associations, often do not allow them. Once Nagra1 shuts down, the number of people testing will be less than a fraction of what it is now.

What about those "Nagra2 ready" receivers?

The only reason they can claim to be "Nagra2 ready" is because it is believed (though not proven or confirmed) that Nagra2 requires more memory than Nagra1. These "Nagra2 ready" receivers have more flash memory than do the Pansat, Fortec, or Blackbird.

Don't be fooled by the snake oil that some will try to sell you. No one has found a hack for Nagra2. When Nagra2 is hacked (and I do believe it will be) it will be big news and everyone in the testing community will be talking about it. In the meantime, prepare yourself for a long stretch-- perhaps YEARS-- without Dish or BEV by the end of this year.

Jack, the sub is a sub yes. But i had PM'd you a few times and told you to look where i told you, and if you did you should see that there is a image for the dreambox that is now availible (not a sub, a hack). It's there, you just gotta look. It's been 5 1/2 weeks uninterupted now.

Many of you have contacted us recently questioning the loss of channels that is occurring with Dish Network. Certain channels have been converted from Nagra 1 to the Nagra 2 encoding system. More channels are being converted to Nagra 2 on a regular basis. Our present cards are due to shutdown sometime late in 2005. Dish Network has several revisions of the yellow Nagra 2 card. Revision 101, 102 & 103. Only Revision 101 cards can be programmed at this time. The first 3 digits of this group states what revision the card is.
