View Full Version : HASH on No ZKT???

Patched P4 CAM's and activation make for sorry bed partners right now, biteme...due to the recent hashing that started August 20. Not your 420's fault. Activation must use bin files with matched, uncorrupted group keys to stand a chance at lasting...and patched HU CAM/ZKT's, or patched P4 CAM's, or phony CAMS don't match. Anytime you force additional tiers onto a bin, you're corrupting some keys..you do the same if you are adding a tier lock or checking "prevent tier wipes" in the activation options box.
If you were to try using a 3M and that P4 Cam, it should work fine. And, that modded IRD WILL help your activation tiers last longer.
Here's a link to a technical explanation of the above. Scroll down to my long-winded post on the subject. I didn't do the tech...but at least give me credit for the cut and paste :p

p4 cams and no ZKT bins don't stay up at all. Only TIVO makes a 3m stay up with P4 cam if it's hacked correctly. best thing to do is make up a new cam (don't use the one on the site, be original) and write an activation file right over it, leaving the boxes unchecked when you activate. set your IRD to channel 100 and pop your card in. let it sit for about a minute or so and then surf through the channels. you will see "please stand by" while you are scrolling though but that is normal. i always go to 295 first when i scroll so maybe you want to do that. well, that's my method..others might do it other ways but i know mine works.

Teknicz, the aforementioned scenarios are for real, and have caused lots of problems recently with activation...folks don't understand why their good bins go 745, why they get IVAC messages all of a sudden...myself, I had the same problem as BiteMe with a modded 420 (the CamID I used was a fake, generated with a line 24D8 edit)....but in all fairness, I have heard from a couple of modded receiver experts that are saying the fake CAM works perfect, since Dave can't hash a CAM that does not exist.
In my case, it's quite possible it was a jicky script, or it could have been a dozen other things, I suppose. So, there is probably merit to your statement...
Thanks for the input... :)

don't use a 3m to make your fake bin up. you might be getting hashed because your checksums are wrong. get the noclone program and think of a number and the noclone will calculate the checksum for you automatically. use the the template bin that comes with the program and save it as something else then apply it to your card along with an activation script.

congratulations. i am happy you realized that the cam id is black listed. by my calculations, dave should have 745'd you within 5 minutes...LOL. welcome to testing

I had same problem when making up camid. Finally I called a friend and asked what the number was on his subbed P4. Zapped it to card w/ 25DA and activation. Been good for about 2 weeks so far.

Try this...edit your bin in extreme, line 24D0, address 8 (24D8) and change it to anything between 11 and 99. Generates a big CamID number way outside the normal P4 range. Works GREAT on the old modded 420....

Hey Chief...where did you learn that from???????

Just made it up, Skinerd...surely no one would believe that horseshit :p
OK, OK...Skinerd let me in on that tip....but there's a downside to it, old man....if Texas Trophy can't get it to work, you're the one that's gonna catch hell now.... :moon:

Easiest way to mod a bin is just edit 24D8 as Chief says above, and if for some reason that don't work, try another number.
I was helping someone on MSN mesenger the other night and after editing 24D8 he went IVAC, so he tried another number and it worked....but I have no idea of the condition of the card or the bin he was editing........I have never had it fail to work.........

this guy needs to learn how to do things different ways. the line edit is 1 way but i don't really take that route for checksum calculation reasons. i just use the noclone and everything works just well on this farm

M5, is that utility the same/similar to the AutoUnclone I'm used to? Has the Set Card ID file inside? If so, that IS a good deal...but for some odd reason, lots of folks have trouble grasping the whole concept.. it's really simple, once you understand what is actually happening.
Personally, I have good luck either way...but you have a good, valid point.

i agree with you 100%. to be honest, there is no reason to fill the tiers block up because that won't really stop your cam id from getting blacklisted. keep the hex file simple and all will be well. keep up the good work Idl, we need more guys like you on here.

Been using act for awhile now and never had any problems with my modded receivers (420 , 430 ). i create a simple act hex with workshop and my own p4 made up number . I have read that dave is targeting fuse bytes and tiers in excess of 50( anything that a regular sub shouldnt have). On line 25d8 you can use FF and that will take your number very high . My buddy is using an actual p4 number with no probs so you guys should look more into your procedures and keep it simple .
Keep OnTrucking .
You do mean line 24D8, don't you.............

yes, 24D8. what skinerd just posted was a typo. he is a good modder and he understands dave in my opinion
