DCU peek error means it don't see the flash chip, the device ID you see is for the processor.

Are you positive the jtag is good?? have you tried it with another IRD??
Once in a while I get a DCU peek error, but rebooting the IRD usually clears it. My jtag is impossible to connect wrong to a 420, just solder in a header and plug into it. so I never have to double check connections for a 420.

I had this problem recently with a 430 I was working on. Turns out my 3.3 volt power to the flash chip wasn't soldered well (I had tried to solder into a trace as per unwink instead of to a pad).
I followed the trace to a pad and soldered in and was good to go. At the same time i cleaned with a metal probe between the jtag pads on the reciever to make sure that small solder drops weren't messing up my connection.
Hope some of this helps.

I had this error What it was was the printer cable I was useing (brand new 6' goldplated) cable connecting the jtag to my pc was too long or the jtag just didnt like it...I've tried several 6' cables & I get this error on all...Try useing a shorter cable 3 or 4' I think is the shortest...Makes it a bit harder depending where your pc is...
