Hello all, I am another Newbie that is just starting out with BEV
have a 3100 receiver with the following description as card type:
DNASP011 RevB08
I am not sure if this is a rom11 type card, looking for some input and direction to follow to be able to do testing.
What should I get in regards to readers/programmers/locks, all still a bit overwhelwing, I read the newbie file and found alot of information, just wanted to be steered in the right direction, any info is apreciated, thanks in advance :)

First of all I would like to welcome you to the site...hope you can stay with us and enjoy.
Now getting to your situation....you have a Rom11 and will be locked.
The whole testing issue here is which way do ya want to go...you might be able to get your card unlocked by a dealer, but I don't know what rev's they are at right now.If you want to venture into plastic you will require an ISO 7816 compliant programmer with 3.68 mhz xtal. You may want to go with an Atmega ,being a newbie..I would suggest this route for now...you will need to get the boxkeys from your ird using a Jtag and s/w called Jkeys, either 2.1.0 or 2.9.9 in order for you to program the atmega that does come with it's own programmer....I would suggest you read the dishnewbie file located in the echostar section.
Good luck.

Just so you know all the hardware you may need is bundled into Value Kits on my order page which has a link to it on top of every page here.
