I see many rave about this LNB. Is it really better than the others?

Invacom QPH-031

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have tested the new Invacom QPH-031 and I would like to highly recommend this LNB.

It's the first LNB with the capability to switch between linear and circular polarity. This eliminates the need to attach a 2nd LNB onto a motorized dish. It has four LNB ports: two for circular and two for linear. Two cables (one from linear and one from circular) attach to two different ports on a Diseqc switch. The two remaining circular and linear ports can be used for a 2nd FTA receiver or a Dish Network SW-21 or other switch.

This is a good LNB to use after the N2 swap when a Dish sub will be required. You can hook the LNB to your legit Dish receiver to receive HDTV and locals without needing a Superdish. Hooked to your FTA receiver, you can enjoy all of the benefits of True FTA and subscribed Dish-- with the added bonus of the motorized dish.

The QPH-031 is not for 18" or 30" dishes. First of all, the 18" dish is a piece of crap and should not be used by anyone for any purpose. Secondly, most 30" dishes have a single LNB arm. The QPH-031 does not have the configuration to fit onto a single-arm dish. It's made for three-arm dish with an LNB ring, such as the 36" and 1.2 meter dish.

Funny you mention this. I just came scross this LNB today, but the sute said it was new and not out yet. When was this available and where did you get it?
You say it can't be used for 30" dishes? It was my understanding 30" were fine for FTA. Now from another forum I was told you need at least a 36" dish. You also mention a 1.2 meter. That's way larger than I can put up. It's almost is turning Ku into C band. :eek13:
