Have you tried the dishpointing programs ? Like: http://xxx.nerosoft.xxx/SatCalcView.asp or the attached. Fill in the xxx's in the link yourself.

the easiest thing to do is to repoint your dish before you erase anything off the reciever. You will get a message "Wrong Sat - Echostar 119 West" or something along those lines......then do the sector erase, and let it update in stream.

I'm guessing from your reference to SA5 you have a 2XXX model receiver.

At this point you might consider downloading a DN firmware from the TSOP bank.

The latest one you can find matching the model and build of your receiver. Then load your boxkeys ird number to the firmware with flashedit then save it. Then create and save a virgin EEPROM image. Write both to the receiver. That will at least get the built in signal meter going for easier setup of the dish. After you lock in the dish you can let it stream update.

The Bev model may not match the DN model firmware. If you don't see one for you model post the model number and Build id (build ID is on a sticker on the main board. Has four letters.) for suggested matches. Or a quick search may find it.

I am using a reciever that hasn't been SA5 yet,as i have two recivers, but can only find bell 91 or 82,not 110 or 119 for some reason, trying different transponder numbers also. Was suggested i use transponder 13,but keep getting bell 91 or 82.Any suggestions

Did you repoint your dish, just changing transponders won't do it. Even if you have the wrong software on it the signal meter will tell you that you are on a bird and what it is. Here is another Canadian written dish pointing proggie.

Hi ,I finally found the satelite it appears as wrong sat echostar 110 on my reciever,it is on transponder 22 at 96% but is not locking on,the bars stay red not green as it did for bell 91,i have tried to download the stream it has a few stations that appear in the guide but are in code i guess, the only station that i can read anything on is the onppv 103 showing ppv movies on this month. What am i doing wrong? should i eraser the reciever again doing the SA5 ,and reprogram my card for dishnet first than try to download the stream again, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks again for all the help you's have already given me

When you point your dish, it will say wrong sat 110 echostar.....but will not lock on....it will stay red. Once you have this, you are on the sattelite, and you can do the sector erase and reprogram your card.....then go back to the dish (once reciever is updated and working again) and fine tune your pointing....it will now lock on, and be gree.

Have you reprogrammed your card? I would use TCFD II. very easy to use, and works great.....The other thing is....when I did mine, I couldn't get it to upload on 110. I had to use 119....(down and to the right a little bit from 110).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for Canadian dish pointing programs

But unfortunately for me none of them will work/launch

Ie: dishcumbia pointer says comdlg32.ocx or one of its dependancies is not
correctly registered : A file is missing or invalid & Satellite_Angle_Calculator
is an HTML that won`t link , but I found this http://www.hollsco.com/SatCalcView.asp

But I didn`t know which echostar to choose , 1 to 7 possibles ( I have 2 LNBs
receiving Echostar 110 & 119 west respectively . But prog asks for 1 to 7

This seems a nice proggie , http://www3.telus.net/rampage/skew.htm

But now here comes the hardest for me to figure , since I`m a hands on
person ,& I learn from visuals best , my dish only has one set of numbers
that refer to some positioning ( I can post a pic if needed) , not only am
I not sure what these numbers refer to , one set of numbers doesnt seem
enough , since I see other calculations/numbers required , such as
Latitude & Longitude ,Bearing/elevation , azimuth & skew , so even if
the sweet little proggie calculates all this jargon for me , how can I physically
apply this to how I set my dish , seeing I only have one set of positioning
numbers to work with ?

I went into my system settings of my receiver , thinking all this may be set from there , dish pointing etc....But it`s no there either .

I know someday , to me , this may seem a very dumb set of questions , but
for now they are very real & unknown to me , so please advise as much as you can for a DUMB noob

Cheers

Drop the elevation down to about 32% and snug it up then loosen the nuts slightly and turn the dish a little south ontil you get signal ..Keep trying new transponders till you get a signal ..Once you get signal , then adjust the elevation up or down to increase stength ..Make sure no trees are in the way !

dream u need to move slightly to the right and down in elevation for 119
you need 119 to get the firmware...
110 and 119 are just barely off from each other so move slowly ...
u wont get a lock til u are on DN firmware i do believe but u can get the signal up to a good strength then once u got it u can flash or erase sa5
good luck its not that bad ive done the samething b4 and im also cdn

muhahaha didnt even notice date b4 posting oh well :\
