Pansat to get new card readers..

Within the next 2 weeks there will be new card reader options for ALL popular Pansat models. Those that do NOT have provisions for an internal reader are also supposed to be included. These units will require an external card reader that attaches via the RS232C serial port and will allow people to receive Irdeto2 with a valid sub. FreeXTV packages will be offered by Pansat to enhance your viewing pleasure.

Models reported to get support for the external reader option include the following;

Pansat 2300
Pansat 1500 & 2500
Pansat 2700

Support is the name of the game here, and it sure looks good for Pansat owners.

I heard that you are basically subbing a card, it's like paying for a sub and you only get to watch from one provider only. That means, if you are watching a sub from freextv, and turn to another channel that has a different provider, you won't get tv for that channel.

Yes its a sub card that plugs in at the back of units. But this will open all sats that have IRDETO 2.

Check out The Pansat Group site. And I know were Dipper gets his info. Same place were I get mine. This one was a cut and past from pansat.

Will this dish work for Xtv 30" INCH WINEGARD DISH WITH DUAL KU LNB. It ia s 30" dish. What sat does it need to point at. I have a coolsat 4000 in am looking in to getting. I have heard it is hard to find and set up? Is this true.

Coolsat the first to offer X-crypt

The optional card readers coming out for FTA units have been the object of much discussion of late. There is a valid use for some of these. Below is a C&P from TeknoFreak

"Anyone can get a card reader for about $69.95 dollars and a sub card X-Crypt Smart Card for $29.95

so for about 100 dollars u.s you will have a sub package that is good for 6 months of unintrupted service. There is 1 porn channel now and 2 more being added at the end of the month.

Coolsat has said this is the best that could be done for the time being so no one is without atleast some good tv to watch.

There is also more but I am told not to say that they will be doing some extra providing from time to time.Maybe no one wants to know that, but its said anyway.
