im new to fta, i have a 2700 receiver. I'm using the lnb's from a dtv dish. I have 3 of them attached to an oval dish. I'm not sure which end of the lnb to attach the coaxil cable to, the left or right. Does it matter?? also do i need diffrent lnb's than the dtv ones that i am using?? The next thing is im not finding the sats, im in NY Brooqlyn area. (some of my letters arent functioning) what sats should i be looqing for?? How do i use the sat finder?? and last is it o to have 3 lnb's or should i only have 2. Thanxs in advance

DTV lnb's are only good for D15H, B3LL or DTV. To get Ku, or true FTA you need at least a 33" dish and a linear LNB. The DSS sats like what you have are circular LNB's. Someone described it like trying to tune into an FM station on an AM radio; just not possible. Also, if you are trying for true FTA or a combination of FTA and D15H, you should probably get a motor. I would recommend the STAB. Tomorrow I will post a picture or my setup and details of how to do it yourself.

You know what MUMRA, Crow is the man when it comes to FTA, so check out all his "sticky" posts, which are detailed instructions on how to set up FTA. I'm gonna try to upload pic's of my set up anyways, and if you have any questions I can answer pretty much anything.

The only support for my dish is at the bottom and the fence post I used is not even in the ground, its on it. The house sheilds the pole. I used a disque switch to run both LNBS. Check it out!
