Well if you got nothing better to do and already got the equipment, I'd say go for it. Point it at 119 if your only going to get 1 bird. Try to scrap another lnb if you can, an sw-21 switch is under $10. Time line is hard to say, there should be atleast basic programing for a few more months. But they could step it up at any point, or they could get delayed, but either way it's better than nothing.

It's there now. It's easy to convert and test. It will last 3 weeks to 2 or 3 months. No brainer.
Working with a single dish I would set it up for 119 then use paint or a permanent marker to mark the settings. Then set it up for 110 and do the same. So if you see a show you want to watch on the other sat. A 7/16" wrench and a few minutes and your ready to go.
On the other hand if you plan on getting a sub later you will likely need a 500 dish setup anyways for either Bev or DN so might as well get it now and enjoy testing while is lasts.

Choose 119 for the specialty channels or 110 for the PPVs. Just my $0.02....

It's well worth switching since you have nothing to loose you already have all the equipment you need. If you already have local programming through cable then point your dish to 110 you will get alot more PPV and hbo & showtime movies.
Good Luck and Enjoy it while it lasts.
