Hello I have a multistar pantec ultra , I would like some info as to what file to download, and where to get it , to enable it to get dishnet. I,ll be using my old DTV dish and LNB. Is there a tutorial that I can read, sort of a step by step approach to getting this up and running. Thanks

Pantec Software package all you need to setup

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the Pantec software package that gives you all you need to get it going out of the box. You will need a DB9 f/f straight through serial cable. Please post any questions you have about this in here. Thanks

DO NOT DOWNLOAD IF MS

PANTEC MODELS clarification

Pantec Series: Original, MS, MX, PF, Ultra (MX), MS+, STX and STX/2

There are option differences with various models of the Pantec's.

a) The MX has no power switch on the rear.
b) The MX was made without SVIDEO and or Rear Power Switch Jacks. Depending on where you purchased it.
c) The ULTRA has SVIDEO and no rear Power Switch. It is the MX Model w/SVIDEO.
d) The "Original" came with all options.
e) The MS was made without SVIDEO and or Rear Power Switch Jacks. Depending on where you purchased it. It is in fact a hybrid Fortec ULTRA Receiver.
f) The PF comes with basic options. It has a Pansat or Fortec Firmware Option Switch on the rear.
g) The MS+ comes with all options plus+ a Pansat or Fortec Firmware Option Switch on the rear. It is the replacement for the "Original" and the MS.
h) The STX has Enhanced 720dpi Composite Video Output and a DIGITAL Optical Audio Output Jack with all the normal options; SVIDEO, Power Switch etc.
i) The STX/2 has all the normal options plus+ features for Plasma, LCD and HD televisions. "These new features are to be announced at a later date."

1- The first generation MS Models and the Originals had to be updated with MNP.exe (PAL to NTSC) conversion firmware first, then you could use the normal loader programs.

2- The second generation MS, MX, PF ,etc came preflashed with Pansat firmware from the factory. If you have the "ON" L.E.D. being displayed then your unit has already been updated. The STX Series has "No" Firmware loaded on them from the factory so they display the KnightRider Lights when you first turn them on.
Just follow Pansat 2500A or Fortec Lifetime ULtra instructions.

This should help
