Hey,
I couldnt help but notice that the Activator 2 looks very similar to the Magic Card. I am not sure if the hardware part is similar or identical. If it is identical it would be a nice option to pay for the flash that will convert the magic card to the Activator. If it is a possiblility I am sure alot more ppl will jump on the wagon.
Thanks

Hmmm I am really not sure about this.. the MC was promised to have a very similar feature (N2 blocker...) and thats exactly what the Activator2 is suposed to do, please who ever makes these products.. charge for the upgrade but dont make alot of people buy identical hardware.

The magic card had a N1 blocker mode,
It was called married sub get a sub then cancel.
It worked.
I don't know if the rom10x did or not. (N2)
If you campare the specifications of the M1 & M2 with the activator2 you will see a lot of differences, hell of a better processor chip for one thing.

Hmm... I will compare them once I will get one. I find it fishy that there is a black strip on pics of the Activator2 where the processor and resistors are.

I think maybe he learned from the past.
Everything is reverse engineered in this hobby.
A little epoxy to make it into 1 inseperable blob makes it hare to identify the parts.
(at least that's what looks like they did)

smilingjack I just checked out the magic card software ,if u go into info for the different program options this is what it says for the blocker : If u have a subscribed new(usually yellow rom 101,102,103 card, you can run in this mode.First subscribe to all the channels you want, then program and place the magic card over ur subscribed card, reduce or cancel your sub.All ur channels remain long after.
(to me thats what the activator2 card is doing ,right?)

The Magic Cards N1 in blocker (married) mode worked, I don't know if the N2 (rom10x) ever did, I don't know if he had it working before the clone war started..
The A2 is doing what magician claimed the magic card would be able to do. blocking N2
I put the specifications of both cards in another post

yeah I just checked that post out and there is some specific differences in the cards .I wouldn`t mine trying this activator card out just for the hell of it ,its only 99.00 if works for a while great, if last only a couple weeks, o well it`s what testing is all about , nothing is guaranteed forever.

Why would they spend time/money to put epoxy on the cards? it aint too hard to rip it off if u want to... and by no means this will help the fight against a cheaper clone which will come out eventually.

Xaser ,
what cheaper clone , an avr would do the same thing :)
but.. The A2 does offer people an option to know nothing and .....
never mind

The activator 2 looks just like the avr 6 wafer card, what is so different from the avr to this activator, besides the software. We should be able to use this software on avr boards then if they are alike.(maybe)If they do work then why not let some well known peeps try them out???

Sure and you can build a magic card for 6 bucks......................
But you can't write the software can you.
So buy a A2 card download the software from it and use it on your avr 6
That should be about as easy as removing the big blob of Epoxy that covers all the parts on the A2 board and then identifing the little pieces you have left..of course you better download the software first, there won't be anything left to read afterwards.
Good luck

If you are sure they are not scams, buy them instead.
If they are scams, we will still be here when they go black screen on you.

-PLL clock generator.

I cant help myself to wonder?
What if ?
Anybody remembers how the MC1/2 was marketed?
Was there a cryptoprocessor on board?
Not to bash anybody, I still think it would be agreat product,
but why market it with outright lies from the begginning?

Why you force you self and try so hard to to make this activator2 card look good
If you are the owner of this card of have some part with it ,,
I think you should not worry and realese it ,, you would sell the card not matter what ,,
beside I think this card should sell with the rom101 clone card to make it a complete hack.. of curse if you can fix it affer an Ecm,, hope you do..
Maybe the price for the clone would go down ,, as soon as they owner make they money back,, let see what happen,,
but for now just realese the product and dont worry about what other say,,
:)

I have no part of it, I can barley program a magic card much less write N2 code.
I just post information people ask for, alkasecond asked for a comparison, so I posted it.

Why you force your self and try so hard to make this Activator2 card look so bad.
Smilingjack is only passing out information about this card to it's membership, he
is not an owner just nice a guy giving us updated information on testing products,
and if he was an owner so what !!!
And who told you or how do you know that a yellow rom101 card was a clone
card, why do you make that statement, can you explain ?
Maybe the price of the Activator2 scares you a little, you know you don't have to
buy it. you can sit back and wait for the testers to spend their money and when
you see it is good, then you become a tester again and buy your's.
I am just trying to understand why it is you are on this site. The FIRST thing I was
told and accepted that this is a hobby you know like entertainment, like fun, like
excitement, like enjoying yourself. It's not a forum to pick people apart because
you are unhappy, no one wants to listen to that stuff.
Nobody seez you have to buy anything, but the flaming remarks you make on
this forum are not appreciated. If you don't contribute to testing the least you
should do is not flame those who are testers and who do contribute!!!
IF YOU DON'T WANNA LEARN SOMETHING LEAVE NOW !
