board?

i read something about a "board" that has the ability to give all channels, including out of town locals, but no ppv's. if it gets hit, thn the board gets flipped. i have no other info, and am wondering if there is someone that has heard of this and if it exists?

It was called the private software board, and as far as I know it turned out to be vaporware. Story is the dude got busted right away or something to that effect. The board was advertised to perform basically just like the Activator 2 we now have for Echostar roms.

Actually its nothing like the activator 2.....
You flip the board to update it. No loader or shit to update it...

2 sites received it, And still to this day the teirs have not expired (Like 2 months now)

So, the update feature has not been tested yet. Hopfully soon...

He got busted very quickly, I beleave this may be real because of that fact.

We will see soon enough, Atleast there are a few out there to reverse engineer :)

search over at hash's site... a member there named dss_asgard posted that he "flipped" his board and it did infact update, albeit on the 2nd attempt.

who knows what more will be done to analyze that "update" process to replicate it ...

update: i found the specific post made in the p4/p5 section dated 07-25-05:

"The "premier board" was being tested several places. I got my self worked up because it seemed to me that people forgot how to test, or at least how to do a thorough review, so I pony'd up and bought one for myself to test. (No diss on Canbert, he received one as well, but after I already had mine going.)

The bottom line on this thing is that it worked much like a no745 board to block the tier wipes,but, the real plus was the claim that you could refresh your tiers once they expired by flipping the card over for a few minutes. It took 4 weeks but I finally had a tier expire for Playboy. Dave was smart to raid them, because the "flip trick" as I liked to call it did in fact work. I'll post a disclaimer here, "it didn't work the first time", I had to do it twice, but I think that was only because I didn’t' let in the stream long enough flipped over. Anyway, they've been busted and the boards are no longer available. Canbert can certainly reverse engineer the board if he decides to, but as soon as Dave gets into it will be done, and so will all the subs they were using to pull this suto hack off. I had three loggers setup durring the flip process and a junior coder could easily figure out what they were doing. I say suto hack because they did not compromise the card. They were simply taking advantage of how Dave updates tier information."

dss-asgard is a poser of some form that cannot be trusted, one of his buddies( or other nicks) posted a bunch of bs as Mikobu4 and then faked some other known nicks, he claims to be related to the Kickass guys, should not be trusted at all.
as for Canbert, he never was a hardware guy, but someone using his nick has popped up, dont know if hes real or a new scam yet.

I've been in this bizz longer than most, and I shutter at what I am seeing here and at most other sites. Not at what everyone is saying but the lack of what is being done. It would seem that everyone and his brother has seen a hack, but no one actually has one. I will admit I got a little excited when I saw the wright up on this board, but it seems as though we as a group have lost the will to test. I am a tester and forever will be, but untill we get our act together and start producing what does work we will never advance our technology. So I guess what I am saying is maybe we need to start out small and work our way up. If this board works even in the small way that it does well then we need more of them so that the tester can find other ways of making it work. And the next step would be a better board. No one said we had to compromise the card, maybe just compromising the ird is the trick. Everyone out there knows a way to get around dave in one way or another, like sub sharing. I wasted money on loaders and programmers in the past and I am sure I will again in the future, but please remember someone needs to be the first. Some one needs to take the first step. I would love to be one of the first to help get the ball rolling again, but like everyone else I dont know where to find the ball.

Hate to dig up an old thread but I came across a site xxx.p45board.... that claims to have released a board that opens up all channels on Dave on August 31st. For a couple of hundred dollars I smell another scam. Does anyone have info on this. Is it the same board that was being discussed in this thread?

Its a new scam based on people not remembering that the other board was a scam. the scammers figure they dont have to try very hard to make a profit if they make the price high enough, since there will always be a few people stupid enough to send them money.
