is the box key also located in eeprom if yes which line is it in hex workshop

It is in the .bin if it is a dual bin it is in .bin 2

you do not use hex workshop you need flash edit, you can see and change the IRD and box key nimbers in flash edit

i have a 501 i dont have the origianl tsop but i fried the box and the n2 card in there is still active so i want to do a experiment the only info i left the box is the eeprom

well the numbers on teh N2 card is encripted so you can't read the numbers there.
they are not in the eprom so you can't read them there.
if the dam thing is active and you get channels the .bon files are in there.
J-Tag the ird and get the .bin(s) out as backups and you can get the numbers with flashedit.

ok tell me if im doing something wrong i jtag and click on eeprom and click save and i go to flashedit and it does no show

that will save the EPROM ONLY
then you have to save the .bin file or files too
every TSOP has at least 2 files a TSOP and a .bin
most have three files a EPROM and two .bins......... 222 and 223

It is in the IRD does not matter if they are bad, just use J-Keys to save them. the numbers are on top and show up in the file save.
Once you get the numbers from the file save, get a new good TSOP from the files section, use flashedit to put the numbers on the new TSOP and put it in your IRD

In fact when you J-Tag on the first page you can see the ird & box key numbers on the left side of the page, just write them down

when i jtag it says fffffffffffffffff for the boxkey and 00000001 for ird #

the thing is i dont have a back up of any of my file my omputer crashed had to reformat so lost every thing and when i go to save flash2 it says error did not reconize codes...can i use the volt meter to get the bk's or any other way
