a2 help please

I've been wanting to get the a2 card, if for nothing else, but to test it out, but my problem is, i have no equipment that charlie is willing to sub. So I need to set up a new sub with new equipment. How do I do that? Will it work on the new equipment? if not, how do i go about asking for an older reciever without giving away my true intentions which would be to hook up the a2 and cancel my sub. I'm stuck here!

Try to get it from a local dealer where you can see the IRD so that you can make sure you are getting a receiver with a card. If not then keep looking for another dealer that has some old stock. Also if you are willing to risk getting a receiver and/or card with a balance try ebay.
Or if you can get the receiver info from the seller call it in and make sure it has not balance.

if i give the card number, wont that make it more difficult to hack later? wont they automatically blacklist it?

also, do i need to put a tsop lock on the ird? Oh yeah, and when I cancel the sub, wont they want the equipment back?

You do not need a tsop lock. The A2 acts as a lock by being a blocker.

Ebay is the most conveinent for for your IRD. Make sure you get an N2 yellow card with the IRD. Make sure the seller has at least 97% or 98% positive feedback

DN encourages you to call to check for outstanding balances. You have to give card and IRD # when you sub, so it makes no difference to check for 0 balance.

You own the equiptment, so it is yours to keep if and when you cancel.

When you sub, be prepared to give your SSN. They are asking for that now for credit check. At least that is the reason they give.

When ypu sub, remember that you as the customer are in the driver's seat.

as far as giving the equipment back, that was if i bought from a local dealer, and i know the a2 blocks card writes, but does it block tsop writes as well?

ok, will a rom 102, and a dp301t work with the a2? and do i have to worry about them meesing with the tsop?
