A2 want to subb need HELP!

OK if I want to sub to Dish and I want to buy an A2 to test it, what rom do I need? I have a grip of yellow virgins in my poss and I don't want a cardlees receiver! I have a DVR which is modded to take a blue card. Should I ask to sub saying the previous homeowner left their eqipment and said that they had a couple of "new cards" that they never used? Do I need to hit the installers up for a FREE DVR and all the bells and whistles and put my modded DVR away? I need some advice on which direction I should go???? Thanks guys!! :cool:

I would be very leary about putting a modded ird on the phone with charlie. I think with that reciever, you need to keep a phone line hooked up to it. from what ive heard though, the reciever does not see the a2, so you might be better off just going with a new sub considering their practically giving the dvr's away and since it doesnt see the a2, you can use the phone line with it. you need to watch out for the 18 month contract though, if you plan on cancelling... hope that helps a little. I did read that the a2 isn't seen by the ird, but i'd double check that with some folks that have tested them out. also not sure if the new dvr's are cardless or not...
