I just called bell about getting some cards for IRD's I bought at a yard sale. The guy told me that they would have to charge me 69$ per card. So I would be looking at 210$ for 3 cards. And even when I activate it they will not refund my 210 like they used to. He told me it would be cheaper if I just got all new system. The problem with that is I have 2 501's and 1 301. I was going to convert them to 5100's and a 3100. But not if it's gunna cost me 210$ for 3 cards. They will rent me 2 5100, and 1 3100 but it will cost 30 bucks a month just for the hardware.

Any suggestions?

Just call them and give them 3 cam ids one for each receiver tell them those are the cards that were in them..Use rom11 cam ids..It has worked for me and my buddy just did up 2 irds last week one of the cam ids he gave them he was told was used already for a different ird and all the did was changed 1 number on his made up card and sent him 2 new cards free of charge... :)

so give them 3 imaginary camd id's activate the system, and they will need to send me 3 new N2 cards?

Just checked and the web page is still there saying that they will refund the $69 (https://prism2.bellmobility.ca/NCO/switchToEnglishAction.do). I was planning on signing up in the next few days (splitting sub with 2 or 3 other people), so as long as that page is there and I sign up via it, they'd better honour what they've got written there.

Ok, I hear that BEV will not activate DishNet receivers being that those specific IRD #'s are not in their inventory regardless what Card #'s you give them.
Also because they will not match each other i.e. receiver to card.

True or False?

It's much better to go the "found the IRD in a garage sale" route because you don't need to sign the 2 year contract.

If you rent or buy an IRD from any "bell" type store, you'll be signing up with a minimum package for 2 years.

I told them the garage sale story and they said I still had to buy a card. I did get the link to work and I am going to try that so I can get the card cost back.. But I need to get a legit IRD# and Boxkey for 2 5100's.
