I think I'm gonna have to shed a Tear for my Rom 2.............I got it with my original 3000...........paid 1200.00 for it with 1 yr. free programming. Dish hadn't even added PPV to their line-up then................ It's been faithful to me...............never looped.............never had a problem with it. Since we've been able to write them ourselves, I've never been without my TV for more than 5 days. Feel as though I've just lost my pet dog..................sniff,sniff..............good bye old friend....................not sure if I want to frame you, or give you a decent burial..................I'm sure I'll never get anothe like you.........................sniff, sniff, sniff

Just add it to the pile of H and HU cards. I got at least 20 old cards just collecting dust. Was thinking of giving them to my 8 year old nephew so he can make a mobile out of them in art class. Maybe if I can collect some more, I could make a deck of DSS playing cards, now that would be cool.

I'm gonna miss my rom2's as well. Damn those were the rom to have. Never missed a lick ever since I got em'. We'll have to hold a small funeral procession if we loose most of what's left tomorrow.

I have a ROM 2 and it was reliable but I liked the Rom 10's. Load that sucker up with everything in the overlapping spotbeams and I could get about 12 of the 16 NFL games without having to even think about DTV's NFL package. I will not shed any tears over plastic; I will move on - transition to something new and better. I will throw the ROM 2, Rom 3's and the ROM 10's in the drawer with my F, H, and HU cards. They will be happy there and maybe someday I will look in that drawer and remember all the fun hours of jtagging, glitching, programming and learning that Charlie and Dave helped me enjoy. Damn Charlie, in the next couple of weeks send me an ECM so I can "play" one more time. Guess I've become an ECM addict.

When life gives you lemons make lemonaid. No reason to morn the passing of the rom2. We are a creatative bunch. Let's come up with other uses.

drano already suggested mobiles and playing cards.

How bout key chains. Most have enough to make one for each vehicle. Punch a hole in it. Add a ring. Write name and address with a perment marker. Never lose your keys again. Those blue suckers would stand out no matter where you dropped your keys.

The provider keys aren't too far away from complete decryp, hold on to your r10/11's as it does look like it will be possible to emulate with these once the keys and algo are completed. Then again I could be totally wrong and a moron......

When push comes to shove charlie is locked into doing things a certian way. Always the best way to get your inbuilt encryptions and decryptions deafeated.

What can I say a creature of the status quo and bottom line. Without a total restructure and ability to think outside the box it's just a matter of time.
