As many as you have rooms to hold them but if you live in a apt. they will get suspisious about 6 receivers.
They know about sub sharing and if you order more than 3 or 4 they will watch you.......... and maybe call for location ID's

The ideal situation would be to get several close neighbors to share and get a roll of phone wire from Rat Shack and run extensions of your phone to each of them, no reason to check on you then, they all call in.
hehehe

If they call and ask for location ID off of the unit will they all be the same if they are all within in say a 50 mile radius of each other and have the same locals or will they change from time to time. I subed 5 and am going to add a 6th what information will I need to keep up with? what do they ask if they call in an audit? I don't even have one connected to a phone line we are a cell phone home.
Thanks
Buck
PS DN did warn that with 5 or 6 subs that if my phone line is not calling in it will be put on an auto audit.

No the location ID is based on an algorithim the uses the CAM ID and the current time.
In an audit they call your house and ask the location ID off each box, if you dont
I actually had a program which would calculate the location ID on you PC using the PC time and CAM ID but I can't find it. They may have it one here somewhere? I will see if I can find it as well. Plus your clock on your PC will have to exactly match the Dish Network clock

I meant to write
if you don't answer the phone or give them the current numbers (not what the numbers were 10 min ago when you called all of your friends and asked them)
they will turn off the account

Was it something like lidcalc because if it is it no longer works with most IRDs.
There is also an older tread here that talks about that.
Maybe 2 weeks old or more.

Lidcalc was not sucessfull for me. Someone else might have better luck with it.
I did monitor the Loc. Id on a 501. It only changed every hour at the top of the hour. Don't know if all IRD's change the same.
If that is the case, it gives you plenty of time to comunicate with shared receivers thru instant message or phone. Then prepare your info and return the audit call right after the hour.

Yeah really, just make something up and call them back. Just play stupid. Like it's looked in your roommates room, or i don't watch tv nor know how it works.
