View Full Version : Any way to keep audio?

Just a dumb question here, as a former DTV tester I know that audio on their system is unencrypted... is it the same on Dish? Maybe by installing an older revision firmware on the receiver is it possible to receive audio on any channels?

Thanks!

Not sure what will happen when Nag1 stream is completely gone, but for now the audio is still available on at least HBOHD and SHOWTIMEHD (both N2) using a blue card. Possibly might be able to pick up SIRIUS and other music channels even when in Nag2 using blue card or FTA receiver.

I have asked this question numerous times here and elsewhere, with little or no success.

With the Sirius and other music channels disappearing today or soon, AND with the knowledge that the audio portion of N2 seems to be opened easily:
why not make the otherwise obsolete MCx , Atmegas etc useful for receiving those 'radio' channels?
I'd rather use a 301.010 and Atmega to listen to music than throwing it into a trashcan.

But then: re-utilizing existing devices is not an interesting project for those trying to peddle A2 and other new cards and programs - it would need a dedicated and skilled hobbiest or guys like Polaris to help here...

Still hoping...
