what dvr to purchase

If i wanted to purchase a dvr that would that has an active cam slot which is the best bang for my buck.

the bell expressvu 5900 is the newest from bell and will be the last to use the card slot, it does not have a embedded smart card

I'd go with a 501, 508 or 510. Got to do a vid mod on the 510 though.

do any or all have the jtag port on them? Vid mod dosnt scare me. how about the 721. i like the 2 tuner option :)
