What dish/ lnb do I need to receive the hdtv package? What sats are the hdtv channels on? I just purchased a 6000 receiver off e-bay, and I will be subscribing. I currently have a 500 twin. Thanks in advance!!

Well, from what I have learned the last couple of days, is that you will need a Dish 500 and one Dish 300. If you are subbing to DishNet, you will also need and 8psk HD Module. With Bev, you won't.

I just bought a 6000 too, and am looking for the 8psk module.

I hope we weren't bidding against eachother. :D

KJT,
The HD channels are on the 110 with the Dish 500. For the Voom channels you would use the Dish 300 for the 61.5. The 6000 is a Legacy IRD and not compatible with DP or DP Pro LNB's and switches.

#40,
Do a favorite search for 6000 8PSK module. They do pop up occasionally. Few and far between. Grab it as quick as you can. Usually run around $50.

HD is super with the exception of lack of programming.

I had found one that was for $94. After clicking on purchase, the actual price was $52. Thier mistake if it was one. :D

Is the 6000 8PSK module the same as an enhanced HD adapter? The receiver I bought comes with this, and the seller said it allows you to get all the hdtv programming on Dish.

So if what im reading is correct. I can use a 6000 receiver as long as it has the hd module and a dish 500 with a sw21.

thanks

Yes... the Dish 500 (dual or quad) aimed at 110 & 119 and a Dish 300 aimed at 61.5 both connected to a SW21. This will get you all of the HD Channels.

With a 2 lnb Dish 500 and a SW21 (110 & 119) you will get the HDNet channels, HBOHD, SHOHD, TNTHD, ESPNHD, CBSHD, DSCHD, but no Voom HD channels (61.5)

Just a quick Q about the discussion.

If you can't get the 61.5, can you use the 148?

Well, after an hour of wasting my time trying to find the 61.5, I broke down and bought a compass. BAM, there it was right where the onscreen help told me it was at. Now, just need the N2 hack, Mili, to put this 6000 to use.

There are 13, N1, Voom channels that can still be received.

They are from 9470-9482.

This is the tier that you will need for them. Also need to be able to pick up the 61.5 bird.
