View Full Version : Missing a single local channel with NOZKT mod...

I'm a DTV subscriber with a P4 card, nothing special. I have an RCA480RE with the NOZKT modded firmware. I am getting everything subscribed normally on my other recievers, but on the 480, I am losing ONE of my locals. All of the other locals are fine, and all of the other channels are fine.

The only issue is a single missing local channel. If I completely reset the receiver (unplug it for 30 minutes, and then plug it back in), the local channel is back and works for a short time. Then it switches to a local channel banner in a completely different market and reports that the program I turned to is not available in my area.

For example, I am supposed to be getting KXYZ on channel 6, but when I tune to that channel I get WABC program guide information, with a black screen reporting that I am not able to get that programming.

Could this be related to the NOZKT modded firmware? Could Dave be testing a new hash for that mod? Is anyone else seeing that? Do I just have a bad card? Should I contact Dave and see if they can help?

Thanks!

Concidering you are subbing you don't need the no-zkt mod, your p4 card will have a valid ZKT table on it.

Reload your backup of the original firmware. If you don't have it i am sure the files section here has a copy you can upload onto the reciever.

Thanks, zhakrin.

I know I don't NEED the no-zkt mod, but at one time I did, and I hope to need it in the future. :-)

I'm sure there are others out there that also have this mod in place on a subbed system, so I was hoping that either they were fine, and I have a bad card, or they could confirm that they too have the trouble and I shouldn't call Dave about it.

I don't want to do more work than necessary, so I'd like to confirm the problem isn't isolated before I undo all my earlier work ... :-)

(P.S. - I do have the previous image, so no problem there, but I don't want to use it if it isn't going to fix the problem.)

Hmm, thats really odd. You could try the origonal image and see what happens, you can always redo the no zkt mod again.

I don't see how the Zkt mod would effect it, but it is always worth a try. If you do write the original bin back and it doesn't work, there would be no need to write the no-zkt mod back to it.

Thanks for your thoughts. I really appreciate it. I can't imagine that the NOZKT mod would affect it either, but I'm hesitant to call Dave until I know for sure.

Is there anyone who is also running the NOZKT mod and NOT having local channel problems? Restoring the old firmware will take an hour or two that I just don't have right now. If the problem persists and I don't get any closer to an answer, I'll probably restore it, 'cause your right -- I probably won't have to go back to NOZKT for a long time, if at all.

Thanks!
