Stupid FTA Question [Archive]

Just a stupid question that I couldn't find anything about on a search...

My question is this. Can any DN receivers be converted to FTA receivers with different flashes, etc?

I also heard , on another site , the same thing using a 2700/2800.

there is lots our there on the net they have been converting 2700's to FTA for 6 months in cuba

There is also talk about converting DTV430 IRD's to FTA! I don't know if it has been sucessfully done yet but I have heard talk. There is a thread over at Interesting Devices on it.
