Here is the newest file for the Fortec Lifetime Ultra dated today, Sept 8, 2005.

** STILL KILLS CLONES **

I have been conducting several tests on this file, all results indicate it still kills clones. I have my Jtag in one hand, and my serial cable in the other. I will continue to update this post with my results.

Testing hardware:

Multi-Star 2500a (with 10k resistor mod) ----> can now be considered a PF model.

Test #1 - Direct load the Al7bar FTA Ultra_050908_280_api onto the receiver. DEAD.
Test #2 - After Jtagging back, Load factory fortec bin (272) and then this file. DEAD.
Test #3 - Jtag a full Fortec bin w/ boot 4.2, then this file. I noticed the display now showed an "8" across the screen where the "-" normally was during boot. DEAD






Here's the file for those who wish to test. It is my assumption this file is either COMPLETELY bogus and just renamed, or it will improve the "death rate" of Original Fortec Hardware only. (again, i could not attach it here for some reason)

can you tell me what date ultra receiver is clone. I have 4 ultra lifetime (Jan 205 july 2004apr2004dec 2004 ) i flash Al7bar FTA Ultra_050905_279_279_api(NTSC) 640 bin so far so good. I have no problem with them. I still confuse what do you mean clone. thank you very much.

Hi, guys same questions as Flymen I also have a fortec ultra dated April 04 is this a clone or not and if it is is there a working file for it thanks!!! :rolleyes:

Review: Al7bar FTA Ultra_050908_280_api(NTSC) released early this morning. 1. This bin IS working with the first generation MS/Diode Modded Pantec BUT! we had to place a heatsink over the STi Chip due to over heating issues and the clock is still not fixed for NA time. 2. This update does not work on MS+, MX, STX nor ULTRA 2500's. We suggest waiting for the "Non Code Bomb" version.

I flash my ultra lifetime which April 2004, i have no problem, working good. make sure you flash right bin that is 640 KB. that's work good for me.
