Been looking around the board and it seems that maybe the Nexus-s card is the best to get. Anyone have an opinion. Looking to buy soon. Thanks

Not really an opinion on what DVB card is best, but it's just what you want the card to do. The Nexus-S is a very good card. It does the video processing on-board, so it's not using CPU cycles. Personally, I use the TwinHan 1020A, have been using it for over 2 years now, and have had no problems at all.
It seems that I read somewhere, about the newer model of Nexus-S not being able to use most of the software that is available for the DVB card. Might want to check that out before you buy.
A good place for info for DVB cards,, dvbn dot happysat dot org.

the nexus and technotrend are good starter, no hassle cards. i like the technotrend a little better just because if you ever mess up or lose the adapter (s type with video and audio) you are kinda screwed. i find that the twinhans card runs super hot and depending on the driver, the signal/quality levels can be inaccurarate. the skystar 2 is a good solid card with the most tool/toy software available but you will need third party software to turn the dish. (a dish turner is a must have if you live in -40 canada!!!) the nova card seems to be reliable and the cheapest, with the latest driver you will be able to turn the dish but i find there is slight audio loss. these are my opinions but i guess it comes down to what you end goal is .... if you want ac3, on screen display, or hdtv (when bev is cracked) then you might want to keep doing your research and get a good solid software card. if you want user friendly stick with a hardware card.
