Problem sharing DTV account

Have been sharing a DTV account for the past year with a friend. He called me today and told me that his receiver was locked up. Had him disconnect power for 10 minutes and power backup. He now has a message that he has a invalid access card and to insert a valid one. The model of the receiver is a Samsung SIR-S-300W. Receiver has never been connected to phone line. Receiver has original access card that came with unit (I believe it is a P5). What's my problem?? He believes he has been caught by the DTV police!

if you had been caught by Directv all receivers on your account would be shut down not just 1. Likely that the information on the card became corrupted.Have your friend return the receiver to you.Call Directv tell them the problem and they should send you a new card,

Just have him pull the card and reinsert it.
