for most people, unplugging for a minute and plugging back in usually does the trick. if i am not mistaken those older receivers take like 12 hours to reboot by unplugging the IRD. if you know what you are doing you can open it up and short the huge capacitors out and maybe that would do it also. to be on the safe side, i would just unplug for a little while and see what happens

try this:RCA: Service Menu & Reboot Instructions

1st generation: DRD102RW
Service Press TV/DSS + DOWN simultaneously. Hold down for 3 seconds.
Reboot Press LEFT + RIGHT + DOWN simultaneously. Hold down for 3 seconds.
2nd generation: DRD303RA, TSR-101
Service Press DISPLAY + DOWN simultaneously. Hold down for 3 seconds.
Reboot Press ON/OFF + DOWN simultaneously. Hold down for 3 seconds.
Color Bars Press ANTENNA + RIGHT simultaneously. Immediate action.
3rd generation: DRD502RB
Service Press INFO + DOWN simultaneously. Hold down for 1 second.
Reboot Press ON/OFF + DOWN simultaneously. Hold down for 3 seconds.
4th generation: DRD222RD
Service Press UP + DOWN simultaneously. Hold down for 3 seconds.
Reboot Press ON/OFF + UP + DOWN simultaneously. Hold down for 3 seconds.
Color Bars Press ON/OFF + UP + DOWN simultaneously. Immediate action.
5th generation: DRD420RE
Service Press INFO + LEFT simultaneously. Hold down for 3 seconds.
Reboot Press INFO + RIGHT simultaneously. Hold down for 3 seconds.
Color Bars Press INFO + MENU simultaneously. Immediate action.
DTC-100
Service Press INFO + DOWN simultaneously.
Reboot Press POWER and DOWN simultaneously

2nd Generation Soft-Reboot Procedure:
-Take out the access card
-Hold down the power button and the arrow down button on the receiver at the
same time
-Hold for 15 seconds
-Turn on the receiver, press the select button twice and put your card in.

2nd Generation Hard-Reboot Procedure:
-Turn the receiver power off remove the card unplug the receiver and let it sit over
night.

2nd Method:
-Push tv/dss and the arrow down button on the front of your receiver and then go to
test button on the screen and push select.
-Test will run for 1 minute or so and then it will give you an option to select STOP
-On the screen select "stop" (at this time the receiver will do hard-reboot.)
